In the Lake Dallas Quarterback Club gameday program this week, there is an article about the 1975 Falcons. The article appeared in the September 5, 1975, Denton Record Chronicle. In the article, the Falcons new coach, Richard Smith, talks about the challenges of District 12-A. He was particularly concerned with Aledo and Southlake Carroll.
How did 1975 work out for Coach Smith? After beating Bridgeport and Cedar Hill, the Falcons dropped three straight and entered district play at 2-3.The Falcons beat Aledo 20-12 in the first game and proceeded to win the final four district games to return to the playoffs for the first time since 1970. The 1975 team was the last Falcon team to finish district play undefeated!
