Josiah Tauaefa selected Defensive Player of the Year!
Fort Worth First Down Club
January 15, 2015
Josiah Tauaefa was selected by the First Down Club of Fort Worth as their Defensive Player of the Year. This award is sponsored by the Touching Lives Foundation, started by LaDainian Tomlinson to help at-risk students.
Josiah’s selection comes through a very lengthy process. Students are selected from schools all over North Texas and as far south as Waco. We not only had to submit his football information and film, but we had to provide them with letters of reference from our building administration as well as furnishing them with information of things he does away from football. He was initially selected to be one of ten finalists and, ultimately, was chosen the winner on Thursday, January 15, 2015, during their banquet at the Hilton-Downtown in Fort Worth.
This is not just an athletic award. Josiah was selected because he is a good student, a good athlete and ambassador of everything we want all of our students at LDHS to exemplify.
When you see him, please take a moment to congratulate him on this award! He is a very deserving young man!
