However, he will be waiting a little bit longer to put his degree to use as he has signed an Undrafted Free Agent contract with the Detroit Lions.
Franklin will now go through rookie mini-camps in Detroit to try to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster.
“He’s a talented guy,” coach Jim Caldwell said to the Detroit Free Press. “He’s had a very good career. He was with a winner. He knows how to work extremely hard and certainly, you can see it. He’s a very, very bright young man, and he can grasp a lot of material quickly.”
